Congratulations go to
Richard Hoover, Walla Walla High School Class Of '75, for winning an Oscar for "Best Visual Effects". Hoover (left), shared the award with (left to right) Paul Lambert, Gerd Nefzer, and John Nelson for the movie "Blade Runner 2049". It was the
third nomination and first win for Hoover, who is visual effects supervisor for
Framestore. Hoover has previously worked for Disney and Sony Pictures.
